The Center for Technology Licensing (CTL) is Cornell University's technology transfer office. We manage technology for Cornell's Ithaca campus, Weill Cornell Medical Colleges, Cornell Tech and the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva.
Associate Director of Strategic Communications
Laura joined CTL in 2006 as the Economic Development Manager where she managed CTL's events and economic development programs.
In 2015, Laura was promoted to Assistant Director for Communication and Administration. In that new role, she supervised administrative processes related to business development, and assisted the Executive Director in the staffing, human resource and organizational operating needs of the Center. She also managed and prepared CTL reports and surveys.
In 2016, Laura became Associate Director of Strategic Communications for CTL with a focus on business development and external communications aligned with achieving CTL’s strategic communication goals and building new business opportunities for the Center. She continues to keep all her previous responsibilities including leading the outreach team, executing event-based programs, writing and producing communication materials, directing the Center’s websites and social media, as well as advance and promote the CTL brand.
Before coming to CTL, Laura was responsible for marketing and public relations for the Cornell Theory Center. She has also worked for two Ithaca-based startups, The CBORD Group and Advion BioSciences, both of whom have licensed technology from CTL to grow their businesses. At CBORD she was the Marketing Manager for the cashless and campus card system division and at Advion she was Manager for Global Marketing for Advion's BioSystems division.
