Olivier Elemento, Assistant Professor - Department of Physiology and Biophysics

Olivier Elemento presented a new rapid and cost-effective technology for identifying the true targets of drugs in human cells. He described how this technology can be harnessed to:

  • Reposition existing drugs for new indications
  • Perform improved drug screening and dramatically reduce time and cost of the hit to lead process as well as guide lead optimization.

The technology is based on an unorthodox combination of next-generation sequencing and advanced computational biology algorithmic.
